Carol Sewell, UNISON activist, joins Labour NEC

Former UNISON vice president elected to Labour’s NEC on Saturday

UNISON has congratulated one of its activists, Carol Sewell, on being elected to Labour’s NEC at the weekend.

Carol is a former vice president and UNISON National Executive Committee (NEC) member.

UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis said: “I know that everyone in UNISON will want to send their congratulations to Carol on her election to Labour’s NEC.

“I know she’ll stand up for Labour BAME members as she’s always stood up for Black members in UNISON. This is a fantastic result for Carol and for UNISON, I know she will do a great job.”

Ms Sewell said on Twitter: “A big massive thank you to everyone that has voted for me. I am truly blessed to have had your support. I will work hard for all of the BAME people”.
