Labour’s manifesto gives voters a real choice, says UNISON

Welcoming the publication of Labour’s election manifesto today (Monday) UNISON General Secretary Dave Prentis said: “The polls may still be close, but today’s manifesto shows that there are clear differences between the two main parties.

“When voters go to the polls in just over three weeks time there will be a real choice. Between a party that over the past five years has meant austerity and financial hardship, tax cuts for millionaires, the longest squeeze on wages since records began, and increased poverty and inequality.

“Or one that offers a better deal where wealthy non-doms can no longer avoid paying tax, there is help for families struggling with the high cost of childcare, an end to zero-hours exploitation, increases in the minimum wage, and the widespread promotion of the living wage.”
