UNISON on PAC report on Hinchingbrooke

Commenting on the Public Accounts Committee report into Hinchingbrooke, UNISON head of health Christina McAnea said: “It is unfair that taxpayers should pay the cost of the failed privatisation at Hinchingbrooke. It is clear not enough was done to assess, manage risks and plan for the future of the hospital.

“UNISON warned from the start that it was a dangerous government experiment and this should now raise alarm bells for any other firms who think that running hospitals is an easy route to profit.

“It is now time for the government to come clean and step away from costly privatisations that neither the NHS nor the public want or can afford.”
