Final call on members to take part in LGBT austerity research

UNISON is calling on members to let us know about the impact of public spending cuts on LGBT people.

The union has asked NatCen Social Research, an independent social research organisation, to explore how public spending cuts are affecting LGBT people.

Carola Towle, UNISON’s national LGBT officer, said “We are all feeling the effect of cuts in public spending, but there has been little record of the particular effect on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. We need members’ help to rectify that.

“We want to hear from LGBT people who use public services and people who provide services to LGBT people.

“This is the last chance to respond: the survey closes at the end of September. Thanks to those who already have – but we are still keen to get as wide a picture as possible, across the diversity of LGBT people and the range of services.”

Taking part is completely confidential and no individual or organisation will be identified. The results will be reported at the UNISON LGBT conference in November.

Find out more and respond to the survey at the NatCen Social Research pages.
