Join us and march for the NHS on Saturday

UNISON calls on members, friends and family to join the 4 March national demonstration and show support for a health service under pressure

UNISON is urging members to demonstrate and march in London on Saturday 4 March to show support for the National Health Service.

The union is backing the march, organised by Health Campaigns Together and The People’s Assembly because:

  • the NHS is being crushed by the government’s refusal to provide more money where it’s needed;
  • services are being damaged by cuts to the number of hospital beds and staff driven by the need to save money;
  • staff are left overworked and undervalued as years of pay restraint take their toll.

It warns that pressure on the NHS is mounting more and more as social care disintegrate even further, and government failure to act now is destroying the NHS.

The national demonstration will form up in Tavistock Square, London WC1 – nearest Tubes stations Russell Square or Euston – and march to Parliament.

Speakers at the rally will include UNISON vice president Carol Sewell.
