How young is young?
If you're under 27 years of age then you can get involved with UNISON's young members. We know that there are many members who are still young at heart, but we have to draw the line somewhere!

BYC manifesto launch

(24/02/10) The British Youth Council has launched a General Election manifesto calling for: the right to vote at age 16; an equal national minimum wage for all aged 16 and above; an end to child poverty by 2020; affordable transport for young people; and investment in mental helath services for young people.

NYMF endorse Prentis

(15/02/2010) At their meeting on Friday 12th February, UNISON's National Young Members Forum agreed to endorse Dave Prentis' candidacy in the General Secretary election.

UNISON signs up to Next Generation Accord

(15/02/2010) Dave Prentis, General Secretary, and Graham Smith, Chair of National Young Members Forum, have signed the union up to the TUC's Next Generation Accord.

A Million Voices for young people

(11/02/10) UNISON's national young members forum are backing the union's Million Voices campaign.



2010 Young Members Weekend

(08/02/10) Do you want to come to this year's national young members weekend? It takes place 14 - 16 May at UNISON's Croyde Bay Holiday Village in North Devon.

UNISON comdemns call to freeze minimum wage

UNISON comdemns the manifesto launched today (5 January) by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), that calls for the minimum rate for young workers to be frozen.

Equality for children

(21/09/09) UNISON is backing the Young Equals campaign for children under the age of 18 to be covered by equality legislation.

VIDEO - Give the Bill some balls campaign

Young members are backing the I-Count campaign for the Climate Change Bill to be strengthened by increasing carbon emission reduction targets from 60 to 80% by 2050 and for the UKs share of shipping and air transport emissions to be included in those targets.
