The launch of the Department of Health's Transforming Community Services (TCS) programme in early 2009 has seen the government pushing for PCTs to adopt new organisational structures to provide their services - including social enterprises and private sector companies. Staff face the possibility of being transferred out of the NHS.

(26/02/2010) 70 primary care sites across England are currently piloting personal health budgets in the NHS .The Government has recently announced that twenty of these sites have been selected for an in-depth study.
(18/02/2010) It's a critical week as PCTs across England gear up to meet the March 31st deadline by when they should have agreed the future organisational form for their provider services. The recently published document, ‘Transforming Community Services: The assurance and approvals process for PCT-provided community services’ calls for effective staff engagement and UNISON members should ensure that they are being fully engaged in the decision making process.
