Senior managers
Modernising the NHS requires investment in NHS management. Improving access to primary care services, reducing waiting lists, promoting better integration with social services and monitoring the quality of care all increases demands on NHS management.
UNISON is continuing to call for the government to make an explicit recognition of the role that high quality management can play in delivering quality patient care.
(15/06/2006) Accusations in the media that the NHS employers 'an army of bureaucrats' are not only untrue, but hugely damaging to the morale of our members, who are hardworking and committed NHS staff. Our campaign - 'Completing the Picture' - is about setting out the facts and demonstrating how support staff and managers are absolutely crucial if clinicians are to deliver first-class services to patients.
(12/06/06) Managers in Partnership (MiP) is a new trade union organisation specifically for managers in the health service. Our primary agenda is to represent managers’ interests and promote the importance of management and leadership in ensuring excellence in patient care.
