UNISON is the major union in the health service. Its health care service group represents more than 400,000 employees in the NHS and staff employed by private contractors, the voluntary sector and general practitioners.

(27/08/08) In preparation for submitting evidence to the NHS Pay Review Body for a review of the 2009/10 pay rates agreed last year as part of the three-year pay settlement, UNISON is seeking the views of members through the attached survey.

Interserve and UNISON reach agreement on the implementation of Agenda for Change from October 2006, for employees at UCLH.

UNISON has responded to a highly critical report from the Council for Healthcare Regulatory (CHRE) on the conduct of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) by calling for the report’s recommendations to be implemented in full and offering to work with the NMC to address the failings identified.

A guide on LINks has been prepared for UNISON by the Democratic Health Network. This briefing is designed to equip activists with the knowledge to ensure the new system functions effectively and that health and social care providers are properly held to account.

The attached report seeks to outline the information available on attrition rates for bursary and seconded students on nursing and midwifery courses.

Ballot sees 83% Yes vote for new unsocial hours payments

The attached spring newsletter includes articles on UNISON's survey of healthcare students, discussions on changes to the bursary system, the student nurse national seminar and respondining to major consultations covering pre and post registration nursing education.

(06/02/10) The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE) has published guidance on clear sexual boundaries between healthcare professionals and patients.

(21/01/08) The NHS Staff Council has now agreed a proposal for a harmonised and universal scheme of payments for staff working during unsocial hours. UNISON members are now being given the opportunity to vote on whether UNISON should vote to accept this new scheme at the Staff Council.
