The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) is a new public body which has been created to help prevent unsuitable people from working with children and vulnerable adults. From October 2009, all individuals working or volunteering with vulnerable adults or children will be required to register with the ISA. Briefing for UNISON members.

UNISON has secured improved mileage allowances from 1st July 2008. Motor Car and Motor Cycle allowances have been raised by 10% and there are improved cycle, passenger and public transport rates. The revised Annexe L to the NHS Terms & Conditions Handbook can be viewed here.
