Stop climate chaos - I count
UNISON was the first trade union to sign up to Stop Climate Chaos, which is the main UK umbrella organisation campaigning for environmental sustainability.

Other members of Stop Climate Chaos include Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth. "I count' is the Stop Climate Chaos campaign aimed at helping us live greener lives. It also shows political leaders that we want more political action on climate change.

Who's dying for a drink?
Who's dying for a drink?
WaterAid is the UK's specialist development NGO working to help the poorest communities in Africa and Asia to provide themselves with safe and sustainable water and sanitation services close to home.

WaterAid is committed to using low cost technologies appropriate to local conditions; providing long-term solutions by training villagers in repairs and maintenance; working in partnership with local organisations to identify villagers' needs; and integrating safe water with sanitation and hygiene education to achieve lasting health benefits.

UNISON has had a long association with WaterAid, Our members have raised thousands of pounds for WaterAid and both organisations have worked together in campaigning for the achievement of the Millenium Goal - halving, by 2015, the numbers of people without access to clean water and adequate sanitation.

Water at water - helping promote good hydration through tap water in the workplace
Water@water
Water@work is an initiative created by UNISON designed to promote the benefits of drinking tap water. Not only does this promote good health in the workplace, it also cuts down on the negative environmental impacts of bottled water. Read more about the campaign in our feature: Tapping into health
