Bargaining Information System - at your service!
BIS, the Bargaining Information System, is a new system that builds on a wealth of company information that UNISON holds. It now has details of thousands of agreements and contracts that gives vital information on the latest trends in pay and conditions to UNISON negotiators at all levels.
BIS will tell you
- The going rate for pay rises in your sector.
- What flexible working arrangements UNISON has negotiated in your region.
- What problems have arisen with private contracts.
- BIS will tell you examples of best practice.
And it will be able to tell you a lot more besides. The BIS database holds information on all the employers UNISON negotiates with and has summary information on private sector contracts and 63 types of agreements, which can be compared across sector, service group and region. Sample Report.
Everyone with a UNISON logon has got basic access to BIS via the UNISON intranet or the RMS online utility, and if you want to use it in more depth then get in touch with the Bargaining Support Group.
You can tell BIS
BIS relies on you sending in details of your contracts and your agreements, and the more information in the database the more use it will be. If you have got agreements with your employer, or details of contacts they have for various services, then we want to hear about them.
Use the contracts pro-forma to send in details of contracts that your employer has issued. Look at the questionnaires (below) and complete them where you have agreements.
