This week, UNISON is launching the latest phase of our Million Voices Campaign with ads that shine a spotlight on social workers and the vital work they do.
This is the first time UNISON has run a campaign that stands up for one particular occupational group. It is designed to counteract the negative publicity the profession has endured over the last year. And whilst the tragic cases hit the headlines, the many thousands of children and families social workers help every year, go unnoticed.
In the last year, UNISON has been getting on with the job of trying to improve the working lives of social workers, through the Social Work Taskforce and now the Reform Board.
These adverts, which will hit local and national newspapers over the next two weeks, are aimed at improving public understanding of the job, and giving social workers back the respect and support they deserve.
